Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 10 ~ When Boys Fall in Love
Layfon and his creepy smile
This episode. Most eye catching scene. Layfon and Gorneo. Man to man talk. Very. Very. Very. Homosexually orientated. Okay. Maybe I’m thinking a bit too much over such a little scene but that’s practically the one most memorable scene this entire series for me…apart from when Layfon single-handedly rips apart a Filth Monster invasion.
You can forget the philosophy both these men talk about. They practically go on about the same thing - how to live, the way to live, and what living is about. Though they do things differently - Layfon ignoring his past to live in the future, Gorneo supressing his rage to do much the same - it makes them very much alike…both fight for the sake of the people they want to keep safe. Perhaps it’s this that has Layfon saving Gorneo instead of killing him (when everyone expected the exact opposite!).
Strategic Planning - Run In Without Thinking
I’m rather disappointed in Nina though. She’s still as stubborn as always. Even though Layfon has changed to become accepted in the present, she still holds a grudge against for his past. Even though she comes to his help at the end of the episode, she still says she hates him. Layfon in his normal matter-of-act manner says he knows. Repeat several times. Not much really in terms of closure. For all we know, Nina might still be hating him for the rest of the series!
Ouch
Compared to Gorneo’s stimulation in Layfon, Felli plays the foil to his male hormone reactants and for a period of time downplays Layfon’s dignity by forcing him to let her ride on his shoulders all the while she beats some sensibility into his head. Possibly the best part of the episode. A pity about imprinting herself straight into a steel girder.
Time to eat some veal?
Then there are those electronic spirit things that keep popping up. What exactly in the world is that golden ram doing? Apart form going on about random stuff that I have no idea about, it doesn’t really have a full-time role. And when are those Anubis men going to actually do something interesting? All they do is chase after little girls and animals. I wonder if they’re into virgin and animal sacrifices…hm…
And on a other note…Layfon, where on earth did you learn to fire a beam from your mouth!?
Next episode hosts the most dreaded episode stereotype known to man - the beach/pool/bikini episode. I’m not sure what they’re going there for but Karian’s expression scares me…

Haha. XD Such a funny review! And you used the same pic I did for the cover! XD
“Even though she comes to his help at the end of the episode, she still says she hates him. ” — I think, like Silver (who commented on my post for this ep) says, she was being tsuntsun…meh. :S
