Chrome Shelled Regios Episode 5 ~ Chrome Shelled Starcraft
Zerg versus Terran: Who’s gonna win?
Layfon has a thing for strings. Mei blushes too much. Nina is too stubborn. And maybe Felli secretly likes Fon-Fon. So what else is new? Oh. And, yes, Sharnid is actually serious during a crisis. This episode packs quite a punch with actual battle happening, with our intrepid students getting themselves overrun by a horde of bugs, and Layfon arriving in to save the day once he’d overcome his emotional unbalance. Check out the Terran and Zerg war here in the gallery.
Remember: Don’t try this at home.
Highlights include getting to see some of Layfon’s history. The wire using fellow in the first episode seems to be Layfon’s teacher (or at least instructor in the ways of bondage), with Layfon himself learning how to use those strings himself as a weapon during his training. Outside of these flashbacks, he’s also asked out to lunch by Mei, who seems to can’t stop blushing. I’m not sure why, but it gets kind of silly when someone blushes as much as she does. On the otherhand, she does bake some pretty nice cookies.
Definitely overpowered.
This’ll give Saber a run for her money.
The Zerg…I mean Filth Monster invasion is the major event for the episode. The students are chosen to go defend the city alongside the Police, with both Nina and Sharnid taking up positions on the front line in their defensive. Layfon is in the city moping about how fighting is something that can be avoided and so on and so forth, before realizing that he’s an idiot and runs to Nina’s aid. Of course, after some upgrades, he totally destroys the Zerg rush and goes outside the city to eliminate the Queen as well. So in the end everyone else was useless and Layfon was the only one who managed to do anything spectacular. Does this mean he’s the new GAR of the season?
We can’t forget about Zuellini either!
Apart from our bug invasion, there really wasn’t much else to the episode. Nina being annoyed at Layfon is considered normal by now. So is Felli’s tendency to cause him harm if he’s acting chummy with Nina. We did see a few old faces though - our red-haired lady, our white-haired guy, our bald guy and the blonde curly-haired lady from a few episodes before make a return. The question is, what role will they be playing later on? I did find our last scene with Layfon passing out on Nina to be rather charming. Too bad that Felli’s still around to turn his potential harem around.

I keep forgetting the name of the city…and I didn’t notice the food at all. XD And no one remembers all the side characters, hehe. And haha, Radioactive Layfon-man! Is that sung to the Spiderman theme? XD
….-thinks Patrick and whatshername- XD XD
