Hetalia Episode 3 ~ Why Have Enemies When You Have Italy
France’s Head on a stick…
And we return to Hetalia and some more history lessons with a twist! I still can’t fathom why Italy’s the main character though. Is it his naivety or uselessness that draws us to him…or did the creator merely pick him because Italy is famous for it’s pizza and pasta? Who knows. You can check out the screenshots again here in the gallery.
Out he goes!
This episode returns us back to World War 1 and Italy deciding to sing a song to Germany. Unfortunately, he doesn’t find it amusing (even though I do - apparently Italy finds that being under Germany gives him more food than being taken captive by Britain) and throws him back into the Tomato box. Fast forward to after the war has ended and Germany’s forced to make cuckoo clocks to pay back France. Italy pops back in and asks for work too since he’s in dire straits as well. In the end, he earns 900000000 marks for helping to bang a hammer on something. Too bad that eggs are 3200000000 marks…
And back in he comes!
Our second part has Germany making a comeback in World War 2. Only to have Italy join him as an ally (he comes flying back even after being kicked out of the house). We have this rather awkward moment of Germany accepting Italy’s friendship (I’m getting tsundere vibes from Germany though)…but even then it ends badly since Italy proves to be useless when both are stranded in the middle of the desert. Don’t quite remember this part in my history lessons though but I could be wrong.
Germany’s predicament can’t get any better than this…can it?
Oh. And Japan makes an appearance in the end. His voice is much more manlier than I expected though. Will he come to Germany’s aid like it’s recorded in history or will something unexpected happen? I guess I’m expecting something like Japan rushing to Germany’s help but ending up stranded in the desert as well. This is mere speculation though. I’ll be keeping a watch out for next week’s episode for more of Italy and his incredibly strange antics.

Wonderful screenshots, love the first one. XD (Didn’t think of it that way, hahaha..)
And remember what I told you about Japanese leading men having deep speaking voices!
