A Certain Magical Grimoire

So begins our adventure into the twisted world of nun-habit wearing younger sisters who secretly have big sister complexes and S&M fetishes. Needless to say Zange-chan, our little sister goddess possessing girl in nun-habit, is one competitive little girl.

This episode of Kannagi explores the relationship between Nagi and Zange a little more closely since the previous episode where we are introduced to her towards the end. It seems she wants to accrue more faith and followers, in much the way a goddess needs priests and acolytes to spread their presences, then her sister…thus her decision to possess a human host (the girl’s real name is Hakua just for comparison’s sake) and then use her high school sex appeal and cosplay antics to net clueless otaku in the street for ‘confessions’. A small and ludicrous endeavor that strangely appeals to the opposite sex (or should i say ‘definitively’ rather than ’strangely’?).

Well…Jin become infatuated with her as well. Of course, Nagi isn’t going to let this stand and goes off to find out where her sister resides…coincidently at the school that Jin goes to. They meet and decide to talk shop in the gym equipment shed. This leads to Zange overpowering Nagi, tying her up and then stepping triumphantly on her with a look that borders on orgasm. Tsk, tsk…

We end the episode with Zange and Tsugumi popping by Jin’s to cook dinner - Nagi and Jin have been living off snack and junk foods for the past few days simply because they can’t be bothered to cook…i don’t think i’ve ever met anyone that lazy before…or maybe i have. Who knows?

Overall it was a solid episode - i felt that the story was a bit slow at times but it was worth the development and the look on Nagi’s face when she was beaten up by Zange in the second half of the episode. Cosplay Nagi just looked…wacky
